About

I became immersed in the digital world almost immediately after being plucked from the womb. My first gaming experiences were on the Commodore 64, playing classics like Donkey Kong, Ace of Aces, Defender, and others. Very quickly I became enamored with Mario, and became the die-hard Nintendo fanboy that I remain today. I was inspired to draw my own levels with crayon and paper, but that wasn't enough - I made my first game at the age of 7, diligently copying the code out of a kids science magazine.

Playing Super Mario 64 for the first time put me in awe of 3D and made Shigeru Miyamoto my hero. It remains my favorite game to this day. During the waning years of the Nintendo 64, my interest started to turn to more sophisticated endeavors, such as skateboarding and middle-school fashion trends. When GameCube was announced, I repented from my backsliding and devoted myself to learning web design to express my raging fanboyism. Using Frontpage, Angelfire hosting, and a neon color palette I offended all sensibilities. As gruesome as it was, it kindled an interest in the web that I continue to this day.

In high school I was introduced to the art of spriting - creating low-res 2D game graphics. This led to my exploration of the amazing, free, aptly titled Game Maker program. I finally found an outlet for my pixelated imagination, and I resigned myself to my dark lonesome room and poured my life force into making games, some of which I was mildly proud of. During this time I discovered the world of anime, and came to love the works of Satoshi Kon, Hayao Miyazaki and others. It's influenced my art style ever since.

Leaving high school I studied Media Arts at Platt College and got educated in video, web design and 3D art.

where I'm at

Shortly before graduating I was hired at a web marketing company doing web maintenance. My 3D skills were noticed and within 6 months I was promoted to the video team to do motion graphics and editing. I continue to work there while improving my 3D at home, with the intention of landing a job in the gaming industry.
